At approximately 3:20 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, deputies from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office were called to Winchester Boulevard, near Mountville Road in Adamstown following reports of a single-car crash.

Investigators say that a person driving a Nissan Altima lost control while negotiating a curve when the vehicle went off the roadway, down a hill, and struck a tree.

Responding paramedics found Lester at the scene of the crash, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle fled and deputies are still attempting to make contact, according to the sheriff's office.

Lester's last known address was in Berkely Springs, West Virginia, they noted.

This is a developing story.
